Between 1993 - 2001 there were 135 trading companies with state interest in Harghita county, being under supervision of the State Privatisation Basis as well as its legal successor, the APAPS. 101 companies belonged to the initial portfolio, the other 33 were created later, after the division of the state companies.
Between 1997 - 2000, 81 trading companies were privatised by auction and three on the RAZDAQ market.
Out of the 135 trading companies 22 were privatised in 2000. By the end of 2001, there remained 17 trading companies in full or partial property of the State Holding Company (APAPS), out of which it participates with a quota over 33% in ten and under this quota in seven companies.
No trading company in Harghita county participates in special privatisation programmes such as PSAL I-II, RICOP or SAPARD.
