Tinder processing in Corund
This folk occupation is known to be practiced only at Corund all over the country. The tinder fungi growing on the leafy beech and birch trees are cleaned of their barks then sliced. The slices are lengthened and softened according to needs with special sticks by tindermen, thus creating the necessary form. In some cases they even dye and shape the material. Caps, bags, decorations, bookmarks are made out of it. The products are sold as rarities at spas and in larger towns.
