As the peripheral community of Odorheiu-Secuiesc, Brădești directs two other villages (Satu Mare and Tirnovita).
It is situated 5 km from the centre of Odorheiu-Secuiesc, and 47 km from Miercurea-Ciuc, the municipality of Harghita county (along National Road 13A).
The northern, greater part of the village stretches along the no. 138 county road leading to Zetea-Gheorgheni.
The village is famous for onion-growing, it is one of the most important suppliers of the Odorheiu-Secuiesc market.
Szekler gates in the village
There are more than 30 carved gates in the village on which one can find all the traditional motives (tulips, buds, leaves, trailers etc). Gate-carving is a living tradition here. Carving, that sometimes takes 16-20 days (after the careful selection of the wood and the preparation of the parts) is made by skilled carvers with special tools and methods.
