Tracks from Red Lake (Lacu Rosu)
Mark: red cross Running time: 1 hours Length of track: 3,5 km Level difference: 40 m, easy walk
. We start from the Lacu Rosu restaurant. Behind the Lacu Rosu motel there is a trodden path that leads through the forest. After 250 m we reach the look out the Balconul de Piatră. From here we climb for a while and then we descend to the ,,tail of the lake". From here the blue cross and the red cross go in different directions. The blue cross goes along the Suhard stream towards Piatra Likas. We go around the Suhard stream branch along the forest road. Then we reach Poarta de Piatră. After Poarta de Piatră we reach the trout strain. From here we go on the asphalt road and reach Bors villa (kb. 300 m). We follow the marks along the beach of the lake and after 800 m we reach the Ranova hostel.
Mark: blue triangle Running time: 1 1/4 hours Length of track: 3 km Level difference: 378 m, accessible in eash season
We start from the Lacu Rosu restaurant. After 200 m on the 12/C main road we cross the Békás river and we go towards the Bucur villa. After the villa the road leads up to the Suhard hostel. From here the path leads under the southern wall of the Suhard Mic. The marks follow the arc of the rock wall and leads to the Suhard saddle. From here we can bypass towards Suhard Mare (1,1 km). An unmarked path along the Suhard ski track leads up to the Suhardul Mare (1504 m). From the saddle of Suhard we go through a forest and after 400 m we reach the look out of Suhard Mic.
Mark: yellow stripe Running time: 3-4 hours Length of track: 10 km Level difference: 44 m, accessible in each season, but in rainy days and in the winter the lower part of Bicazul Mic is difficult.
We start from the Lacu Rosu restaurant. After we leave the Roaza Soarelui hotel we arrive to the Bicaz pass. Here we see the rocky tower of Fagul Ciucului. The Bicaz river runs along the pass. On the left bank of the river we see the Tündérkert. After a short walk we reach the bridge at the mouth of Cupas stream (944 m), Here we find the tracks no. 6 and 7, and the entrance of the Cupas pass. Near here there is the Suhard cave. Now the 12/C main road departs from the river and we see the Cupas ridge and the Fagul Ciucului mountain. After a while we reach the Poarta Pietroasa. Here begins the track no.8 that leads to the holiday camp and the track no.8 that leads to Piatra Maria. From here we can see the Piatra Altarului. After that we reach an inhabited area. We can find accommodation at Marta villa, or in the camps. Leaving behind the inhabited area of the pass (km 29), we reach the tunnel of the pass. Here is the meeting point of the Bicaz river and Lapos stream. After the tunnel we reach the Mare serpentine (level difference 50 m). At the end of the Mare serpentine begins the Iad gate. We walk 150 m and we reach the Iad terrace, from here we can see the Piatra Altarului, the walls of the Bardoc mountain, the Negru tower, and the rocks of Piatra Surduc. The marks leave the 121/C main road at the mouth of the Bicaz Mic stream and goes towards the Bicaz Mic glen. We go along the main road and reach the Iad throat, the narrowest part of the pass. From here we walk 800 m and reach the end of the pass. Here, on the bank of the Bardoc stream we find the Iad villa. If we follow the yellow stripe we cross the unfinished bridge and we continue our way on the slope of Bicazul Mic and after 200 m we reach the stream. The path climbs under the rocky wall of Piatra Surducului and then we go across a place with rock debris. From here we go upwards and we reach the southeastern foot of the Piatra Surducului. Here we find the look out of Bicazul Mic. After that the path descends And reaches the valley of Alba stream. From Alba stream we have to climb 400 m in order to reach the Surduc wasteland. From here we reach the saddle of Piatra Surducului Mic (950). From the saddle we go around the Surducul Mic, and after 1 km walk we reach the valley of Bicazul Mic stream. We cross the stream at the southern end of the pass and we go up along the Bicazul Mic forest road. We reach a wasteland, and then we follow the road that goes to the right (the road of Mészégetok) which is marked with yellow triangle (track no.8). From here we walk up to Veresko saddle (1011 m). From here we descend to the holiday camp of Lacu Rosu.
Mark: blue point. Running time: 2 hours Length of track: 7 km Level difference: 491 m, not accessible in the winter
We start from the mouth of Cupas stream, and we follow the Cupas forest road. At the beginning the blue point and the red cross marks go together, we go along the forest road in the Cupas pass. On the right we find a stone cross. After 250 m the red cross leaves the forest road and goes to north. Leaving the pass we reach the foresters' lodge at the Cupasul Mic. 180 m away near the stream the tourist path marked with yellow stripe begins. This path leads to the saddle of Suhard. 600 m away the Pityókás stream joins the Cupas; we find here a stone mine too. Our next stop is at the hunters' lodge that is at the mouth of Métafa stream. From here we follow the forest road with the same name (1,2 km). After 20 min walk we reach the barns at the Danturas stream. We follow the forest road for 1,4 km then the road becomes a narrow path which leads up to the Lapos road which is behind the Piatra Danturas where we find the blue marked track no.1. On the last part of the track the marks are defective, but we just have to follow the stream. If we go to the south (left) from the meeting point of the two tourist tracks in 2 h we reach the Pangarat peak. If we go to the north in 20 min we reach the Vinkli wasteland.
Marks: red cross, red point from the bottom of Cupas Running time: 1 hour Length of track: 3 km Level difference: 136 m, easy walk
Starting point: the mouth of Cupas stream. In the beginning the red cross goes together with the blue point in the Cupas valley. 250 m away from the stone cross we turn to the right and we go among the rocks of Cupas pass towards north. We reach a small clearing after 550 m from the last rocks and we join the red point mark (track no 16). This is the bottom of Cupas. From here we go to the southeast follow the ridge of Cupas and we reach the Márta villa. We finish our walk when we reach the 12/C main road. We walk 3 km on the road to reach the holiday camp of Lacu Rosu lake, and 2 km to reach the lower part of the Bicaz pass.
Mark: yellow triangle Running time: 1 hours Length of track: 3,5 km Level difference: 44 m, easy walk.
Accessible in all seasons. We start from the center of Lacu Rosu lake. We cross the 12/C main road and we follow the Kisbékás (Bicajel) forest road which begins near the only panel house of the settlement. After 800 m we reach the Napsugár villa. After a while we reach the Piatra Rosie saddle where we find the Ioan Botezatorul Orthodox Church. The yellow triangle and the yellow stripe go togeter. The red triangle turns to the right at the end of the ski track and goes in the southeast direction following a cart road, the yellow stripe goes together with the yellow triangle. After we cross the saddle we see the dens of Bicazul Mic. We have to descend 700 m to reach the first important curve of the forest road. In the curve the two marks lead to different directions, The yellow stripe keeps straight on and follows the road of Surducului to the valley of Bicazul Mic, the yellow triangle turns to the left to a cart road (Mészégetok road) and goes northwards. The road goes on the eastern side of Fagul Ciucului and reaches Poiana Florilor meadow (). We walk 650 m and we reach the Tifra saddle (1002). From here an unmarked path leads up to the look out of Piatra Maria. Leaving behind the clearing we continue our way in the forest and reach the western wall of Piatra Maria. After 15 min descending we reach the 12/C main road between Piatra gate and the Mic serpentine. From here we can descend easily to the holiday camp of Lacu Rosu (3 km).
Track no.9: Lacu Rosu lake (boat port) (983) - Poiana lui Paleu (1242) - under Veresbükk (1390) - Száraz-tók wasteland (1530) - under the peaka of Vf. Piatra Cherecului mountain (1580) - the touristic focus point of Poiana Albă (1460)
Mark: blue point Running time: 4 1/2 hours Length of track: 10 km Level difference: 597 m, difficult in the winter.
We start from the parking near the Lacu Rosu lake boat port. After a few minutes we reach the Hasmasul Mare villa. The slope gets steeper; we reach the mowers' houses on the clearing under Piatra Ghilocos. We go towards the rocky wall of Ghilocos. Not far from here, on the Ghilocos clearing we find the double blue point mark that goes to the look out of Piatra Ghilocos. The marks follow the rocky wall and after a while departs and climbs to the Saua Ghilocos (1270 m), the watershed of the Ghilocos stream and Gödrös stream. From here we can see the Mic mountain, the Piatra Licos and the Piatra Cherecului. From the Poiana lui Paleu the cart road turns towards southeast, with the red and blue point marks, then after a few minutes walk we reach a bifurcation at the forester landmark VII/92: the red point descends in 30 min to the valley of Oii stream, the blue point goes to the direction of Alba meadow. The blue point road goes on the edge of the Veres-Bükk clearing. Reaching the upper end of the clearing we enter the forest. After a while on the left we can see the valley of Bicazul Mic, on the right the Veres-Bükk. After that we reach an old forest. Leaving the forest we reach the wasteland of Száraztók. Crossing the wasteland, after 35 min we reach a small clearing, the cart road ends, and we follow a path that leads to the saddle marked by the forester landmark VII/125. Here is the saddle between Hasmasul Negru and Piatra Cherecului-mountain (1580 m). Fromhere the marked path turns to the right and goes towards Bersan wasteland under the peak of Kerek mountain. From the saddle we descend in 15 min and reach the cut-out of Bersan wasteland, then, after 1 km walk, touching the Piatra Potcoavei we reach the touristic focus point of Alba meadow (a pine tree on the pasture). From here, touching the Tunzeria saddle and Ciofronca we follow the red stripe mark and we reach the Pangarat peak (track no.2). Also the red stripe, touching the Hasmasul Mare, leads us to the Piatra Singuratica hostel. Following the blue mark we can return to the holiday camp of Lacu Rosu (ttrack no.10).
Mark: blue stripe Running time: 2 1/2 hours Length of track: 8 km Level difference: 493 m, accessible in all seasons.
We start from the center, from the Lacu Rosu lake restaurant. We go along the 12/C main road. From here we go to the parking (near the lake)n ad we follow the track no.9(blue point). We go on the main road, and after 1300 m we reach the forest road named Oii stream. We go along this road and after a few min we see on the right the Kapros stream, and on the left the Manole stream. Then we reach the wood cross which indicates the beginning of the tourist track no. 13. We go through a wood and we reach a sheepfold after 15 min. Now we approach to the bridge of Hasmasului stream, anv we have to leave the cart road. Here begins the track no.10/a which leads to the clearing of Csofronka. The blue stripe mark goes up between the Hasmas and Oii streams. After a while the path turns to the right and reaches the forest. We reach the peak. After 15 min we reach the northern side of Alba meadow. We are under Piatra Potcoava. After 500 m we see the first sheepfold. From here we walk 500 m to reach the touristical focus point of Fehér meadow (the old pine tree). We continue our way towards Piatra Singuratica hostel following the red stripe, or we can go towards Pangarat peak (track no.2), or we can go back to Lacu Rosu following the blue point (track no.9).
Mark: red cross Running time: 1 hours Length of track: 1,5 km Level difference: 360 m, accessible in all seasons.
If we start from the lacu Rosu holiday camp the first part of the track goes together with the track no.10. We reach the Juh stream road and go towards Ciofronca mountain, and the main ridge of the southern part of Hasmasului mountain. We follow the stream for 650 m (after the bridge) and we reach a smaller stream that comes from the Ciofronca direction. Here we leave the main valley and follow the red cross mark towards southwest. After 1100 m ascending we reach the Ciofronca clearing. From here we follow the red stripe mark towards northwest and we reach the Pangarac peak in 2 hours. But if we go to the southeast we reach the touristic focus point of Alba meadow in 1 hour.
Mark: Blue cross Running time: 4 hours Length of track: 6 km Level difference: 708 m, difficult in the winter
We start from the center of the holiday camp. From the tail of the lake we follow the forest road of Suhard stream valley. We follow this road 1 km after the foresters' lodge. After a half km uphill we reach the cart road. We arrive to a clearing (marshy field) then we reach the Suhard stream feje (1205 m). This saddle is between the northwestern side of Suhardul Mare and the foot of Licos. The marks lead to the west and reach Licos vesz. Leaving Licos vesz, we reach the southeastern saddle of the wasteland of Licos (1461 m). From the sheepfold the marks turn to the northwest and reaches the peak of Piatra Licos (1675 m). 200 m from the peak (northeast) there is Pestera Licos (1650 m), which is a vertical cave. From the Licos mountain, touching the saddle of Nyerges we arrive to the Pangarac peak following the blue point mark (track no.30).
Mark: red triangle Running time: 2 hours Length of track: 4 km Level difference: 411 m, accessible in all sea sons.
We start from the center of the holiday camp and follows the forest road of Bicajel). Until the Orthodox Church the three marks (yellow stripe, yellow triangle and red triangle) go together. Here, before the saddle of Piatra Rosie, a cart road goes to the right. The red triangle follows this road. We reach the forest. We go along the cart road. At the landmark no VIII/20 we reach the wasteland of Ghilocos. We go across the waste (southwest direction). And going through a narrow wood we reach the look out of Ghilocos mountain (1378 m). From here we can see the Lacu Rosu lake. If we want to climb to the highest peak of Ghilocos (1408 m), we have to go only 1 km eastwards from the look out. We can descend following the double blue point mark (track no.15) to the Ghilocos clearing, and then to the camp.
Mark: red point Running time: 2 hours Length of track: 4,3 km Level difference: 230 m, accessible in all seasons
If we start from the camp, first we follow the 12/C main road, and then the forest road of Oii stream valley (track no.10). Following Oii stream, after 1,1 km from the last house we reach a wood cross. Here starts the track marked with red point. We follow the cart road to the east and we reach a foresters' lodge. We enter the forest. After 30 min we arrive to the edge of the Veresbükk clearing where we find the blue point mark. The blue point goes to Alba meadow, the red point goes towards the Lacu Rosu lake. The blue point mark reaches the Válus wasteland leaving the valley of Cherec road stream and goea northwards and touching the Ghilocos nack descends to the Lacu Rosu lake. From the Cherec road stream we follow the blue mark and we reach the edge of the Cherec meadow. From here we turn to southeast and we follow an unmarked path that goes along the edge of the foot of the mountain, after 10 min we reach the western edge of the Piatra Cherec rocky wall, and we reach the 1366 m peak. We go back to Válus waste following the same track. In the valley of the stream, following the Cherec road stream and the high voltage cables, after 1,5 km we reach the buildings near La Bechet, then going to the east we reach the top of the left rocky wall of Felso pass. From here we descend to the bridge of Bicazul Mic situated between Felso pass and Alsó pass, and we reach the end of the track.
Marks: blue point, double blue point from the Ghilocos clearing Running time: 2 hours Length of track: 3,5 km Level difference: 395 m, accessible in all seasons
We start from parking near the boat port. First we go together with track no. 9 and we reach the Ghilocos clearing. Here we find the double blue point mark. The path leads up to a spring (200 m). From here the path turns to the north and after 20 min walk we reach the look out of Piatra Ghilocos (1378 m). The path leads through bushes and reaches the peak. From here we can see the Lacu Rosu lake. Here we find and follow the red triangle (track no.12), which leads back to the camp.
