10. CORBU -THE VALLEY OF CORBU STREAM

Track: Corbu municipality (at the estuary of Corbu stream - 680 m) - Corbu stream valley - Corbu hostel (860 m)

Length of track: 10 km Level difference: 254 m Running time: going 4 hours; back coming 3 1/2 hours Mark: blue point Description: tiring in the summer, but to the estuary of Bîtca stream we can go by car. In the winter recommended only for trained skiers

Desciption of track: we start from Bîtca municipality and we follow the forest road which starts from the 213,5 kilometers and bifurcates from the main road no.15. We go among houses, then in a forest, and reach the estuary of Scurt stream (10 km). After the first 7 km we turn to south, and after 3 1/2 hours walk we reach the estuary of Bîtca stream where we find the forest workers' lodge. From here the road goes to west and after ˝ hours walkwe reach the Corbu hostel. At the meeting point of Scurt and Long streams we find the marks (yellow stripe) of the track no. 9 which leads to south and reaches the hunters' lodge of Chiozrez mountain (1244 m).

11. TRACK TO ASOD VALLEY

Track: Asod village (664 m) - Asod valley (779 m) - Asodul Mareridge(1320 m) - Asod peak (1334 m) - Hármashatár (1350 m)

Length of track: 9 km Level difference: 695 m Running time: going 3 1/2 hours; back coming 3 hours Mark: Blue stripe (hard to see) Description: accessible in the summer. The first 5 km are accessible by car. In the winter recommended only for trained skiers

Description of track: There is a bifurcation in Aszód village at the 216,3 km. We follow the forest road and after 2,6 km we find the forest workers' lodge. At the 3,2 km landmark, at the estuary of Aszód stream we reach the foresters' lodge and then the Korhány ridge. The road goes to southeast along the Beltik stream and reaches the Korhány-Aszód ridge and the Asodul Mare peak (1334 m) where there is a sheepfold. From here we follow the unmarked ridge path to the spring of Asod stream, then we turn to south under the Benes peak where we find the mountain track no. 2 comes from the Corbu valley, from the estuary of Bîtca and reaches Hármashatár. From here we go to southeast, we descend in the valley of Rosu stream and reach the Rosu Mare and Rezul Mare valleys and we go along the forest road.

12. THE TRACK OF REZUL MARE VALLEY

Track: Putna municipality (655 m) - Gura popii (750 m) - the estuary of Rosu stream (800 m) - the estuary of Tehenes stream (905 m) - Lükkeno clearing (1200 m)

Length of track: 13 km Level difference: 750 m Running time: going 4 1/2 hours, back coming 4 hours Mark: blue cross Description: accessible by car in the summer. In the winter recommended only for trained skiers

Description of track: from Putna municipality we take the forest road that begins near the bus station, and we go across the Rezul Mare valley until we reach the Lükkeno clearing (12 km). We leave behind the school, we walk 2,6 km and we reach a bridge. We continue our way to northeast and we reach the Popa stream. From here the road leads across a beautiful valley. At the 6 km landmark we reach the estuary of Rosu Mare stream, in the northeast direction we find a forest road (in the valley) (track no.15), which leads to the ridge of Hármashatár. At the 8 km landmark we find the estuary of Vacii stream, this is the meeting point of two streams (Vacii stream - from the left - and Gura stream from the right). After 4 km we reach the end of the forest road. From here we have to walk 1,5 km to reach the Lükkeno clearing. We go across the clearing in the southwest direction. Leaving behind the valley we climb to the houses of Lükkeno. The forest road leads to southeast and reaches the Fagul Inalt peak . The blue cross mark follows the stream towards Nagy-Rez spring and reaches the forest road that connects Groapa Pisicii and Lükkeno. Following the road we reach the Lükkeno clearing.

13. THE TRACK OF LÜKKKENO CLEARING

Track: Tengheler peak (1065 m) - Fagul Inalt (1460 m) - Lükkeno clearing (1200 m) -Groapa Pisicii (1285 m) ()

Length of track: 5 km Level difference: 414 m Running time: going 2 hours, coming back 2 hours Mark: red triangle Description: in the summer only for experienced tourists, in the winter for trained skiers

Description of track: Between Ditrau and Hagoto, at the 14,6 km landmark there is a forest road that begins from the Tengheler peak: this road connects the Lükkeno clearing with the springs of Rezul Mare stream. We go to the north from the house situated on the Ditrau peak and we reach the Fagul Inalt, and we go around it and we go down on a serpentine road towards northwest. After 4 km we reach a saddle - this is the Lükkeno clearing. Her we find the forest workers' barracks and the office of the foresters of Putna Mare - we can find here accommodation. Leaving behind the barracks we enter the woods and follow the forest road to northwest. After 400 m we reach the edge of the forest, we cross the Rezul Mare stream and we reach a place named Groapa Pisicii. From here we follow a path that comes from Chiozrez mountain - Rivo peak, leads towards east-northeast to Fagului mountain -Rivo (1382 m) and Rezul Mare ridge.

14. THE TRACK ON THE PUTNA RIDGE (CULMEA PUTNEI)

Track: Lükkeno clearing - Obcinei peak (1234 m) - Bâtca Bârsanului peak (1247 m) - Alunisului peak (1189 m) - Putna municipality Length of track: 14 km Level difference: 1060 m Running time: going 4 1/2 hours, back coming 5 hours Mark: red cross (hard to see) Description: tiring track in the summer, in the winter recommended for trained skiers

Description of track: we start from the workers' lodges of Lükkeno clearing, we go 300 m on the forest road (see track no13) we reach the bifurcation towards Fagul Inalt. We leave the forest road and follow the ridge eastwards. We climb to the Putna peak and after that we reach the Alba clearing (1247 m), from where we go to northeast until on the right we see a sheepfold. From here we climb to the Alunisului peak (1189 m), we walk 4 km downwards and we reach Putna municipality, at the estuary of Balaj stream. Tulghes is 6 km away.

15. THE TRACK OF THE ROSU VALLEY (VALEA ROSU)

Track: the estuary of the Rosu mare stream (815 m) - Rosu sheepfold- Hármashatár (1350 m)

Length of track: 5 km Level difference: 535 m Running time: going 2 1/2 hours, back coming 2 hours Mark: blue stripe Description: accessible in the summer, in the winter recommended for trained tourists

Description of track: the track connects Rezul Mare valley with the ridge with the same name, towards Hármashatár. At the 6km landmark we reach the estuary of Rosu Mare stream, we follow the forest road which leads to a crossroads near Rosu stream where we find a forest workers' lodge. From here we go to the right (northwest) upwards, along the Rosu stream. After 20 min walk the forest road ends, we go along a narrow path, which leads to a sheepfold. Hármashatár is near the sheepfold on the mountain meadow (north). At the eastern side of the mountain meadow we find the red stripe mark. The mark leads to the Bâtca Rotundă peak and after that reaches Tulghes.

16. THE TRACK OF USCATA MEADOW (POIANA USCATA)

Track: Râpa Corbului (1020 m) - Poiana uscata (1214 m)

Description of track: we go to the west from Holló stream on a marked path across Uscata meadow. After 1,2 km walk we enter the woods, and after 800 m on a pasture we reach the spring of Scurt stream. After 500 m walk from the Corbu stream we reach the Uscata clearing where we can find the red cross mark; on the south there is the Uscat peak (1207 m). From here, touching the Estefan peak we reach the Chiozrez mountain. We go down to Borsec following the blue triangle along the Malnas stream.

17. USCAT PEAK - CHIOZREZUL MIC MOUNTAIN TRACK

Track: road of Vinul Mare stream () - Uscata meadow clearing (1214 m) - Uscata peak (1207 m) - Estefan peak (1285 m) - Chiozrezul Mic peak (1250 m)

Length of track: 9 km Level difference: 545 m Running time: going 4 1/2 hours, coming back 3 1/2 hours Mark: red cross Description: tiring track in the summer; in the winter recommended for hunters who are good skiers

Description of track: we can reach the 199 km landmark of the road that goes along the valley of Vinul Mare stream from Borsec bath, from the sports ground, on the alley of Os spring -Jégbarlang-Pierre Curie spring, or from Borsec town following the road towards Capul Corbului. Reaching the track: from the abattoir we follow a path towards southeast and we reach the path going to south, or from the direction of the sports ground we cross the Vinul stream at the 109 km landmark, then we enter the forest and we go along the fence until we reach the track. We go upwards and after 1 km we reach the saddle of Malnas mountain. We walk in the forest and we reach a waste saddle of a big mountain called Poiana Uscata. On the left we see a sheepfold. From here we climb towards Uscata peak, and we leave it behind on a path. On the saddle, about 1 km from the peak we find the Malnas spring. Then we go towards the Estefan peak, we descend to the saddle and we go in southwest direction and reach the spring of Adânc stream , from here we go towards Chiozrezul Mic peak. The road goes on the slope under the peak and reaches a cart road which leads to the Chiozrezul Mic peak; here we follow the mountain track no. 2 that goes along the ridge.

18. THE TRACK OF MALNAS VALLEY

Track: the estuary of Malnas stream (804 m) - Malnas valley - Uscata clearing (1196 m)

Description of track: we start from the 198,4 km landmark of the road that goes along the Vinul Mare valley (main road no.15), on the right bank of the Malnas stream, after 10 min we enter the woods, we reach a beautiful valley and we continue our way on a path upwards along the stream. After 3 km walk we reach a meeting point of two streams, where the path bifurcates. We turn to the left and go through the woods. After 300 m walk we leave behind the stream, and we start to climb on a serpentine path until we reach the Uscata clearing. Here we find two different marks: red cross and red triangle. The former leads to the Chiozrezul peak (track no. 17), the latter to the springs of Filip Andrei stream (track no. 16).

19. THE TRACK OF VINULUI VALLEY

Track: DN. 15 (806 m) - Vinului stream - Chiozrez Mic peak (1250 m)

Length of track: 8 km Level difference: 460 m Running time: going 4 hours, back coming 3 hours Mark: blue stripe Description: accessible in the summer; in the winter recommended for trained tourists

Description of track: We start from the center of Borsec on the main road no. 15 towards southwest, enter the street that leads to the left side of Vinului valley. After 2 hours walk we leave behind the houses and reach a clearing. We pass near a stone mine and some forest huts. Crossin the bridge at the 5,3 km mark we arrive at an enclosure with houses and stables. We leave the forest road behind at the 7 km mark and by turning to the right we enter the forest. We reach a clearing then the 1015 altitude mark. We can turn back to Borsec on the left side of the ridge path. But we go further to the right reach a large clearing, go up on a trodden road, and after 4 hours walk we reach the Chiozrez Mic ridge named Vinului peak (1259 m). There is a large field crossed by track no. 2 (red stripe mark), leading towards Chiozrez mountain. Down on the left is a cart road leading to Orotva valley, and on the southeast direction a road leading to the Taslau hostel.

20. SARMAS MUNICIPALITY - DOSUL CEL MARE RIDGE- SARMAS PEAK

Track: SARMAS municipality (697 m) - Dosul cel Mare ridge- SARMAS peak

Length of track: 7 km Level difference: 578 m Running time: going 3 hours, back coming 2 1/2 hours Mark: red triangle Description: accessible in the summer; in the winter only for skiers

Description of track: We go towards northeast from the center of Sarmas, from the school; leaving behind the municipality we reach a cut-over area after the basalt mine, then a pasture.

21. LA CIALO - HAZANÉZO PEAK- ARCOZA RIDGE

Track: Arcoza stream estuary (840 m) - LA Cialo - the ARCOZA ridge (220 m)

Description of track: on the main road no. 15 from the Árkoza stream estuary ramifies a side road that leads to the Arcoza ridge. The path goes along on the left side of the stream. We reach a mountain clearing after crossing a few forest spots. The foot of Arcoza mountain remains behind us on the left. We climb the ridge of the mountain, pass near the Cialo sheepfold. After 2 hours walk we reach the track no. 2 (marked by mistake with the red point instead of the red stripe), on which we can get to Arcoza peak (1293 m).
